We in the MIX:UK team have learned our lessons and the process will be a lot slicker for MIX:UK 08.

Videos of sessions

In case you're wondering whether / when we're likely to be providing videos of the sessions at Mix:UK - well, we're absolutely intending to do that. At the moment the videos are being encoded and we'll get them on the site as soon as possible, but given the number of sessions over the two days and the fact that we're using HD video it is taking a while.

We'll keep you posted, but be assured we're working on getting these out there.

We're SOLD OUT!

Registrations are now closed, and we'll only take requests for the wait list from now on because Mix:UK 07 is sold out! We made as much room to accommodate people as possible that meant we managed to extend for a few more days but we're now at the maximum.

So if you're already booked you're one of the fortunate ones, we'll see you on the 11th!

Take 40 speakers, 3 floors of presentation rooms, and two days of content. Mix for two days

When we initially decided to run the Mix:UK event we expected there to be around 15 speakers, and maybe a couple of tracks.

We never realised it would turn into this: With 40 speakers from a huge range of backgrounds and experiences, and 4 concurrent tracks, Mix has turned into a sizeable even running over 3 floors at the wonderful Congress Centre venue.

We're putting the finishing touches on the lineup and the agenda so expect to see an agenda update on the website later this week. We've also been adjusting the space to make sure we can accommodate as many people as possible, as we're seeing a high level of demand for tickets.

So we're in the final straight now, just under two weeks to go until kick off. It's going to be fun!

SEO Session at Mix

We glad to report that one of our key search specialists, Nathan Buggia, will be speaking at the Mix:UK 07 conference.

Nathan has been working in various aspects of web technology since his first web dev job in 1997, doing PERL and CGI. Since then he has worked in Java, C++/CGI, Systems Administration, Systems Architecture , and finally moved into Marketing for Microsoft's Live Search.

We'll update the agenda with further details shortly.

Mix Music - you choose...

30ish days to go and it's all hands to the pump at Mix:UK central making this the huge, groundbreaking event that you all expect.

One problem - we can't agree on what music fits the brief and will work for both sides of the developer and designer audience that makes Mix:UK so unique.

So - over to you.

Give us your suggestions and you might get some Mix goodies if we use your suggestion at the event...

Hoss Gifford at Mix:UK

Mix:UK is pround to present Hoss Gifford bringing his unique mix of entertaining, creative inspiration to Mix:UK in his session :

¨Insert really good title here¨

How many websites, animations, RIAs and games have you seen that have clearly had a significant amount of time and money put into them by talented people but hold you're interest for less than a minute?

How many films are made by a huge team of people spending millions for more than a year only to come out as complete flops?

Where did that initial enthusiasm go that was firing you up at the start of your current project leaving you wishing it was all over?

How does the man that drives the snowplough get to work in the morning?

All these questions and more answered in a sometimes irreverent, sometimes irrelevant, always entertaining talk that will leave you glad you sat through it to the end but guilty that you didn't really learn anything.

Website Updated, and interest levels peaking!

We've updated the Mix:UK 07 website with much more detail regarding sessions, speakers, sponsors and other information.

Make sure you take a look, we have some really good sessions lined up with some world class speakers - so we're all getting very excited about the event, it's shaping up to be something pretty special.

One interesting way to gauge the temperature of any Microsoft event is how many staff, and particularly Redmond staff, are begging to allowed to attend. And at the moment we're being besieged with requests for staff to attend, not just from the UK but many of them from our HQ in Seattle, and many from Europe too. However we're being fairly hardcore about staff numbers though to make sure that you the delegates get the spaces!

We could honestly have filled this event with Microsoft people flying in from around the world if we had wanted to, but believe me that's not going to happen :-). But it does mean that interest in this event is extremely high, so if you're already registered enjoy the warm smug glow of knowing there will be plenty of Microsoft people wishing they were in your place!
